Business Management and Administration, Marketing, and Finance

Students begin the following pathways with Principles of Business Management. Following that they can branch out into Business Administration, Accounting, and Marketing and Sales. They start with examining business ownership, organization principles and problems, management, control facilities, administration, financial management, and development practices of business enterprises. Students identify and practice the appropriate use of technology to communicate and solve business problems and aid in decision making. Attention is given to developing business communication, problem-solving, and decision making skills using spreadsheets, word processing, data management, and presentation software.

Business Administration

Program Overview: After Principles of Business Management students take Management Fundamentals and Accounting Fundamentals.

Students will explore business ownership, organization principles, management, administration, finance management, and development practices of businesses.  They will learn about business communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills and how the law affects business.

Business Administration Capstone: Students interested in pursuing a capstone experience could continue their training through more advanced course work through one of our partner colleges or completing a work experience through one of our partner organizations.

Dual Credit - This pathway has the potential to earn dual credit with Ivy Tech: BUSN 101 (3 credit hours), BUSN 105 (3 credit hours), BUSN 201 (3 credit hours)

Finance and Investment

Program Overview: After Principles of Business Management students take Personal Finance & Banking followed by Finance & Investment

Students will explore business ownership, organization principles, management, administration, finance management, and development practices of businesses.  They will learn about business communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills and how the law affects business.

Finance & Investment Capstone Capstone: Students interested in pursuing a capstone experience could continue their training through more advanced course work through one of our partner colleges or completing a work experience through one of our partner organizations.

Marketing and Sales

Program Overview: After Principles of Business Management students take Marketing Fundamentals and Strategic Marketing and/or Digital Marketing

Students develop an understanding of the scope and importance of marketing in a global economy.  They design marketing and business plans in both traditional and digital modes.  Students gain experience through school-based enterprises

Business Management Capstone: The capstone experience for Marketing & Sales can be embedded within the school as part of the Strategic Marketing class and the DECA group running their own business within the school. Other options include taking more advanced coursework through a partner college or completing a work-based learning experience at a partner organization.

Dual Credit - This pathway has the potential to earn dual credit with Ivy Tech: BUSN 101 (3 credit hours), MKTG 101 (3 credit hours), MKTG 252 (3 credit hours), MKTG 230 (3 credit hours)
